OVERVIEW
Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes track the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. Based on the cooperation of Dow Jones Indexes and SAM the indexes provide asset managers with reliable and objective benchmarks to manage sustainability portfolios. The DJSI family currently comprises global, European, Eurozone, North American, US, Asia Pacific and Korean benchmarks.

Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) covers the top 10% of the biggest 2,500 companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. This index was first published on 8 September 1999. The Dow Jones Sustainability World 80 Index (DJSI World 80) is a subset of the DJSI World which tracks the largest 80 sustainability leaders worldwide. The DJSI World 80 was launched on 26 August 2008.

Dow Jones Sustainability Europe and Dow Jones Sustainability Eurozone Index
As a benchmark for European sustainability investments, the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index (DJSI Europe) covers the leading 20% in terms of sustainability of the largest 600 European companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index. The Dow Jones Sustainability Eurozone Index (DJSI Eurozone) is the Eurozone subset of the DJSI Europe and, thus, tracks the financial performance of sustainability leaders in this particular region. This set of indexes was launched on 4 August 2010. The Dow Jones Sustainability Europe 40 Index (DJSI Europe 40) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Eurozone 40 Index (DJSI Eurozone 40) are subsets of the DJSI Europe which track the largest 40 sustainability leaders in Europe respectively the Eurozone. The DJSI Europe 40 and the DJSI Eurozone 40 were launched on 4 August 2010.

Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index and Dow Jones Sustainability United States Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North America) cover the leading 20% in terms of sustainability of the 600 biggest North American companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index. The Dow Jones Sustainability United States Index (DJSI United States) is the US subset of the DJSI North America. This set of indexes was introduced on 23 September 2005. The Dow Jones Sustainability North America 40 Index (DJSI North America 40) and the Dow Jones Sustainability United States 40 Index (DJSI United States 40) are subsets of the DJSI North America which track the largest 40 sustainability leaders in North America respectively the United States. The DJSI North America 40 and the DJSI United States 40 were launched on 26 August 2008.

Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) captures the leading 20% in terms of sustainability out of the largest 600 companies in the developed Asia Pacific markets in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index. Components are weighted based on free-float market cap. The Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific 40 Index (DJSI Asia Pacific 40) is a subset of the DJSI Asia Pacific which tracks the largest 40 sustainability leaders in Asia Pacific. The indexes were launched on 16 January 2009.

Dow Jones Sustainability Korea Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Korea Index (DJSI Korea) tracks the leading 30% of the largest 200 South Korean companies listed in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index. The Dow Jones Sustainability Kroea 20 Index is a subset of the DJSI Korea and comprises the largest 20 companies of this index. This set of indexes was launched on 20 October 2009.

Customized Indexes
In addition, the DJSI methodology facilitates the design, development and delivery of customized sustainability indexes; e.g. indexes covering different regions, indexes covering different segments of the leading sustainability companies, indexes covering additional exclusion criteria and indexes denominated in different currencies.
