DJSI WORLD - KEY FACTS
- The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World)
comprises more than 300 companies that represent the top
10% of the leading sustainability companies out of the biggest
2500 companies in the Dow Jones World Index.
- The DJSI World is free float market capitalization-weighted
— i.e. based on the number of free float shares outstanding
for each of the component stocks.
- In addition to the composite DJSI World, there are five
specialized subset indexes ex(cluding) alcohol, ex gambling,
ex tobacco, ex armaments & firearms and, ex alcohol,
tobacco, gambling, armaments & firearms indexes.
- The DJSI World is reviewed annually with the component
changes implemented on the third Friday in September and
effective on the next trading day.
- Changes in the components and the industry group classification
due to the annual review are announced in the first week
of September.
- In addition to the annual review, the ongoing review
of the DJSI World ensures that extraordinary corporate actions
— e.g., delisting, bankruptcy, merger, takeover and
important changes in the corporate sustainability performance
— affecting the composition of the index are accounted
for in an appropriate and timely manner.
